Lydia Idem has been investing in equities for 24 years and actively trading currencies for 14 years. With a special feel for sterling, Lydia trades exclusively GBP currency pairs, particularly the $GBPUSD and $EURGBP. Her approach to forex trading has amassed quite a following on Twitter and StockTwits. She has been a special guest on Yahoo! Finance, TD Ameritrade Network, Benzinga’s #PreMarket Prep Show, and Forex Analytix’s F.A.C.E. She’s been featured in FORBES Magazine and CNNMoney. Lydia is also co-author/contributor to The StockTwits Edge and Trading: The Best of The Best.
In 2014, she founded FM Capital Group, a registered investment advisory firm a mission to empower more people to become smart, impactful investors. Lydia was named #22 of the Twitter Accounts Investors Need to Follow and #3 of the Top 10 Women To Follow In Finance.
Lydia has a Master of Science in Management from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University. She has founded, advised and invested in several different startups for the past 17 years. In 2012, Lydia expanded her portfolio into Africa and is looking to make a bigger footprint on the continent. Her most recent investments include Shyft Power Solutions and WeMove Technologies.
Anessa Rippie is our newest addition to the FM Capital Group team, joining us as a junior associate. Born and raised in New Jersey, Anessa has been passionate about finance industry since high school. Her past experiences include working as an investment banking analyst within mergers and acquisitions at Cassel Salpeter & Co. located in downtown Miami, FL as well as a finance marketer with The Simon Group, a private wealth management firm located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL. Anessa is currently a rising senior majoring in finance at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL with goals of eventually working within the investment and quantitative research areas in finance.
